Pecos National Historic Park

Pecos Church
This morning we packed up our stuff and headed out to explore Santa Fe a bit. We visited the usual attractions like the St. Francis Cathedral, San Miguel Mission and Loretto Chapel. Then we hit the road and headed out. We stopped at the Blue Corn Cafe and Brewery for lunch and then headed to Pecos, NM and Pecos National Historic Park. I bought dad his Senior Pass and then we toured the pueblo and church ruins

which Noelle and I had visited before back in 2003.

It was nice to return after a long time away. It was also nice to tour the site with my parents.
On the Trail to Pecos
I think everyone really enjoyed checking out the kivas.

We found a little bit of pottery scattered along the sides of the trail.

We also saw this vibrant blue mountain bluebird.

After our visit it was time for the long drive back to Carlsbad.
