A Day in Philadelphia

 Yesterday, after a long drive to Denver and a long flight, we arrived in Philadelphia. We took the train from the airport to Jefferson Station and then had a short walk to our hotel near the convention center. After dropping off our bags we headed out. Our first stop was dinner in Chinatown 

at Nan Zhou Hand Drawn Noodle House. From there we walked Race Street to the riverfront and Race Street Pier.

We relaxed at the pier for a bit before heading into Callowhill for a beer at Love City. 

Then walked the Rail Park 

back towards our hotel.

This morning we could hear it pouring rain. Once it had stopped, we headed out. Our first stop was the nearby Reading Terminal Market for breakfast.

After having eaten, we headed out onto the streets, passing through City Hall with its interesting courtyard 

including the Portal.

From there we walked the Benjamin Franklin Parkway past Love Park,

and the Rodin Museum,

to the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Upon entering the museum, we had a wonderful time exploring all the different works.

After touring the museum for a few hours, we were ready to move on. We had arranged for a family dinner at Morgan's Pier, back along the Delaware River. It was a fairly long walk, but we enjoyed the sights and sounds of the city along the way.

 

While the food at Morgan's Pier was nothing special, the views of the Ben Franklin Bridge were pretty spectacular.
