Bighorn National Forest: West Tensleep Falls

After our hike up to the Saban Lookout, we headed west to Meadowlark Lake, then north to find a campsite on the road that leads to the West Tensleep Lake Trailhead. Just about every campsite, dispersed and campground was taken except for one. The one site available was in the West Tensleep campground directly next to a very stinky pit toilet. We opted not to camp there. Instead, we headed over to the trailhead for a hike to West Tensleep Falls.

Even the parking lot was very full. This is the most crowded I've ever seen the Bighorns. We finally found a parking spot and hit the trail.
The trail immediately descended,

soon reaching Middle Tensleep Creek.

Once we reached the creek, the trail never strayed far from it. Soon enough we could hear the roar of rushing water. We steeply descended down to the waterfall.
We enjoyed the view for a bit

Eventually, we ascended back to the main trail and then started our return hike to the trailhead. along the way we spotted a few wildflowers in bloom.

We even managed to snag a campsite at the very nice Boulder Park campground for the night!
