Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park: First Day Hike 2015

The Grunwalds kicked off 2015 in much the same way we kicked off 2014: with the First Hike offered at nearby Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park. We met at the replica cabin just like last year

and hiked the same route long the Nolichucky River

and Limestone Creek. There were frequent stops for interpretation.

Even though we had brought the backpack carrier for Sierra (along with the new seat insert thanks to Osprey), we hardly used it. Sierra walked for pretty much the whole mile or so of the hike.

Needless to say we were usually at the end of the train of hikers. We ended the hike with a quick visit to the playground and refreshments back at the cabin.

It was a great way to kick off 2015!
