Corona Arch

We woke up early this morning, got the hotel breakfast and then made the short drive up Potash Road to hike Corona Arch. We parked at the lot, crossed the railroad tracks,

and then started to ascend an old road up to a sandstone bench.

Once on the bench, our climbing wasn't over yet. We used a chain to ascend a section of the route.

Then, we used a short ladder to ascend another section.

Shortly after ascending the ladder, we crossed a section of slickrock,

turned a corner, and then caught our first view of the famous Corona Arch.

Soon, we passed another arch, Bowtie Arch.

After passing Bowtie, we made our way to the base of Corona Arch. A couple was just leaving as we arrived, which meant that we had the arch all to ourselves.

We took a few photos there,

and then headed back towards the trailhead.

At the one and only junction on the trail, we opted to take the spur up to Pinto Arch. The trail to Pinto Arch climbed to a bench offering great view of the Colorado River below.

We approached Pinto Arch

to find we had it to ourselves.

We enjoyed relaxing in the shade near the arch for a bit. Then, we quickly made our way downhill and back to the trailhead.
