Photos of the Day: Common Loon

Back when we lived in Minnesota, seeing a common loon was a common occurrence. Here in New Mexico it is quite rare. Today while visiting the Spring River Zoo in Roswell we saw this common loon in its non-breeding plumage. It was hanging out with a bunch of ducks and geese in a small fishing pond.
