Appalachian League Championship Series Game One: Princeton Rays at Greeneville Astros

We didn't think we would have another chance to watch the Astros play again this season. However, our hometown heroes made the playoffs and even won their opening round series versus the Kingsport Mets. When I read online that the Astros had won last night and that the championship series would start tonight I told Noelle and she suggested we go to the game.

I thought playoff baseball would mean a crowded stadium, but Pioneer Park was at about the same capacity as for the regular season games we've seen.
I think the combination of a holiday weekend and not knowing the game would happen until last night kept the attendance down. I was excited for a good game,
but it turns out I was terribly let down. Still, it was fun to sit in the stands and enjoy the lovely evening weather.
Sierra got to see Gizmo, so she was happy!
When we left after the top of the 6th inning, the score was 12-0 in favor of the Rays.
Looking at the box score, we did not miss much. The Astros scored 2 runs in the bottom half of the 6th and that was it for the scoring. I must admit that this was one of the most lopsided games I've ever attended. The Astros will have to win 2 straight games in Princeton to  win the Appalachian League. It looks like they are heavily overpowered by the Rays. Good luck though Astros.
