Independence National Historical Park

 This morning I woke up early, took the PATCO train across the Ben Franklin Bridge, 

and took some photographs of the Philadelphia skyline from Camden.

I walked back across the bridge, past one of my favorite former music venues, 

and back to the hotel.

From the hotel, we checked our luggage at a luggage storage place and went back to Reading Terminal for breakfast. The pretzel egg cheese and bacon sandwiches at Miller Twist are definitely worth it.

With full bellies we headed into Old City. One of our first stops was the Liberty Bell Pavilion. It wasn't part of our plan to visit, but since we were early and there was no lone, we opted for a quick visit.

Next, we headed over to the Curtis Institute building and the amazing Tiffany Dream Garden mosaic.

Since we still had some time to kill, we walked through Washington Square Park and admired the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Then we went through security in preparation for our tour of Independence Hall.

It had been years since I've been inside the building. The tour was short, but well presented by a volunteer. My favorite part was seeing the Rising Sun Chair that George Washington sat in during the Constitutional Convention.

After our tour, we explored a small portion of Independence National Historical Park for a bit.

Before we knew it, we were rushing to grab lunch (at Wawa) before picking up our luggage and the L train to 30th Street Station for our train to New York.
