Jefferson National Forest: Guest River Gorge

After arriving in Virginia we headed straight into Jefferson National Forest and the trailhead for the Guest River Gorge rail/trail.

I must say that this has to be one of the best, if not the best rails-to-trail I've been on. Lot's to see,
milkweed
waterfall
bridges to ride over,
speedster
the sound of rushing water to listen to,
river
and even a tunnel to ride through.

The only bad part of the ride is, well, it's not long enough. It's only 5.6 miles each way, for a round trip of less than 12 miles. After our bike ride we did some grocery shopping in the town of Norton, Virginia. Then we headed up, up, up to High Knob recreation area where we set up camp. After that it was a short hike up and down High Knob.

A great day was had by all!
